BOSE announced the launch of the "Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds." BOSE said the product combines the simplicity of a wired connection with BOSE premium sound, proprietary noise-canceling technology, and clear call quality.
BOSE said the product offers a new wired listening experience that lets users play music immediately without separate charging or a Bluetooth connection. Compatible devices are USB-C smartphones, tablets, and computers, and it can be used without pairing or app setup when connected.
Power is supplied by the connected device. BOSE said the noise-canceling function therefore operates without separate battery charging.
The product applies BOSE's proprietary SoundDesign digital signal processing technology, which BOSE said delivers clear, crisp sound. It also supports lossless audio listening and uses the USB Audio Class 2 (UAC2) protocol. Playback output is 24-bit/48kHz.
The product uses QuietControl technology. It has 2 microphones in each earbud, 4 in total, and continuously detects and cancels surrounding sounds with the microphones to help users stay focused on listening.
There are 3 listening modes. "Quiet Mode" reduces outside noise, "Aware Mode" allows users to hear ambient sound, and "ANC Off Mode" disables noise cancellation so users can listen to wired audio.
As a result, users can choose a listening mode depending on the situation. The product is designed to let users switch between noise blocking and ambient sound listening as needed.
A cable-mounted remote control is also included. The remote is designed with physical buttons and can control volume, playback, calls, and noise-canceling modes. It also has a dedicated microphone on the back of the remote to minimize unnecessary noise caused by contact with clothing, deliver voices more clearly, and enable natural calls without having to hold the remote close to the mouth.
The design is compact and simple. The cable is about 1.28 m long, and the soft silicone ear tips come in 3 sizes: S, M, and L. Stability wings are offered in 2 sizes, M and L, to improve wearing comfort.
Users can choose a customized fit depending on the ear tip and wing combination, and the product can also be used without the wings attached. It is designed for comfort and stability and supports IPX4 water resistance for everyday use. It also comes with a zippered storage case for storage and portability.
The color lineup consists of 3 options: Black, White Smoke, and the limited-edition Dewdrop Mint. In Korea, Black will launch first, and the other 2 colors will be sold sequentially.
