LG Uplus, Sodomal Team Up to Develop Customized AX Solutions for Small Businesses

LG Uplus and Sodomal will cooperate on developing customized AX solutions for small businesses. LG Uplus announced on the 22nd that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sodomal to support small-business AX and strengthen AI utilization capabilities. Sodomal is a wholesale and retail distribution platform.

The partnership aims to help small businesses respond to the spread of generative AI and changes in the online distribution environment. The two companies will pursue the development of AI transformation (AX) solutions to support small business store operations and product demand forecasting. The cooperation also includes support for responding to the spread of generative AI and changes in the online distribution environment.

As a first step, the companies proposed combining LG Uplus's telecommunications and AI infrastructure with Sodomal's online and offline distribution data. Based on this, they plan to verify methods for forecasting product demand by business operator.

After that, they plan to combine commercial district analysis data with regional product sales information. Through this, they intend to expand the scope of application to AI-based customer response and operational services.

The two companies identified the introduction of AI and telecommunications solutions in stores, expansion of sales channels, and discovery of new businesses to revitalize local commercial districts as areas of cooperation. The partnership will proceed in a way that supports small businesses while expanding the use of AI at the same time.

The companies will combine the commercial district analysis data from LG Uplus's "Woorigae Package" with Sodomal's regional product sales and group-purchase data. This approach is designed to identify product categories with a high likelihood of demand growth by region and period.

Based on those analysis results, they will support product procurement and also help establish logistics operation plans. The target solution is LG Uplus's store telecommunications and AX solution for small businesses, "Woorigae Package."

The companies will also jointly pursue the development of AX solutions for store operations. LG Uplus will support customer response and improve store operation efficiency through AI- and data-based services. Sodomal will be responsible for actual deployment in small business stores based on its experience operating distribution and group-purchase platforms.

Going forward, the two companies plan to broaden their cooperation beyond product demand forecasting and store operation support to include expanding sales channels for small businesses and revitalizing local commercial districts. Lee Im-hyuk, executive vice president and head of LG Uplus's Enterprise Customer Group, said he intends to expand cooperation to support the enhancement of small-business competitiveness based on AI and telecommunications technologies and to deliver differentiated customer experiences. He also said the company will continue expanding AX services to reduce the management burden on small businesses and support tangible growth.

Seo Deok-ho, CEO of Sodomal, said the agreement will serve as a foundation for helping small businesses use AI and data in actual business operations. He added that the two companies will combine their capabilities to cooperate in building a small-business AX ecosystem.
