Innogrid to Design Target DR Model for 12 Public Systems

Innogrid has been selected as the lead contractor for the "2026 Public Disaster Recovery System (DR) Construction ISP Project (Phase 6)," commissioned by the NIA. Innogrid announced the launch of the project on the 15th.

The project will run from the contract date through January 28, 2027. Following the ongoing DR construction ISP Phase 5, Innogrid will carry out Phase 6 consecutively as well.

Through this project, Innogrid will expand its consulting and design experience in business continuity and disaster recovery systems for public information systems. The project covers 12 major information systems across 5 agencies.

The number of target systems by agency is 3 for the National Fire Agency, 2 for the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, 1 for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, 2 for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and 4 for the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs. Innogrid plans to analyze each system's infrastructure, applications, data, network, security, and internal and external integration environments.

Innogrid plans to define the scope of DR application and the target model for each system with the goal of ensuring service continuity in the event of a disaster. In this Phase 6 project, it will design the DR application scope and target model for each system based on the environmental analysis.

This project will proceed in the direction of detailed DR system design tailored to the business criticality and service characteristics of the 12 target systems. The application methods will be divided into Active-Active and Active-Standby.

To that end, Innogrid will develop a detailed DR design plan that incorporates data replication and synchronization between the main center and the DR center, network architecture, security architecture, integrated operations and security monitoring, and service switching methods in the event of an outage. The goal is to support smooth implementation in the subsequent construction phase.

At the same time, one key task is to design with a cloud-based DR center environment in mind. Innogrid plans to leverage its technology and experience in cloud and data center construction and operations to analyze infrastructure environments such as virtualization and bare metal, and present a DR target model that takes into account connectivity, compatibility, and operational stability with existing main center systems.

Innogrid plans to conduct detailed design in this ISP, derive detailed execution tasks for future DR construction, and identify implementation priorities. It also plans to prepare construction procedure guides for each agency, secure the necessary budget, and develop the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the follow-up construction project. The company’s policy is to establish an execution foundation that will ensure a stable link between the results of this ISP and the actual DR construction phase.

Kim Myung-jin, CEO of Innogrid, said the company would continue with Phase 6 after Phase 5, and that it intends to use this as an opportunity to expand its accumulated experience in public DR consulting and data center construction. He added that the company will closely analyze the business and system characteristics of each agency and develop an effective DR target model and detailed design so that major administrative services can continue even in a disaster.

Three companies — Next In&I, Innogrid, and Concept with Insight — participated in the bidding for the Phase 6 ISP project to build the public DR system. Innogrid received a score of about 99 points and was ultimately selected as the preferred negotiator.
