Samsung SDS Wins Anthropic CPN “Select Tier,” Expands AX Based on Claude

Samsung SDS said on the 15th that it has become the first Korean company to win select tier partner status in Anthropic's Claude Partner Network (CPN). As Samsung SDS pushes to expand its enterprise AI business based on Claude, it added CPN select tier status to the strategic partnership it signed with Anthropic at the San Francisco AI Summit in July.

CPN select tier is awarded to partners that have certified technical staff and have demonstrated experience building and deploying solutions for joint customers in live operating environments. Samsung SDS met those criteria and won select tier partner status.

Samsung SDS already has experience supplying Claude through the cloud. Samsung SDS has been providing Claude through AWS's generative AI platform, Amazon Bedrock, and it also holds certified reseller status that supports Claude adoption and operations.

Based on this newly secured status, Samsung SDS said it will expand its support framework to cover consulting, supply, implementation, operations, and technical support for Claude adoption. Through this, Samsung SDS is pushing to expand its enterprise AI business based on Claude.

Samsung SDS will use its select tier win as a springboard to expand its Claude-based AX business. Samsung SDS has experience in digital transformation and AI transformation in the public sector, financial services, manufacturing, and logistics, and plans to apply that experience to building Claude-based AI services and agents.

Joint business between Samsung SDS and Anthropic will also continue. The two companies signed a strategic partnership in July and are pursuing new business opportunities in the Korean market, joint marketing, PoC, and business expansion.

Samsung SDS is also working to secure specialized talent. Samsung SDS plans to train Applied AI Engineers, who will support Claude implementation, operations, and on-site deployment. Through this, Samsung SDS aims to expand its capabilities from planning AI adoption for clients to implementation, operations, and technical support.

Samsung SDS plans to connect its internal deployment experience with external AX business. Under its Client Zero strategy, Samsung SDS first applies and validates new technologies internally before rolling them out to customers, and it has introduced Claude Enterprise into its internal operations.

Within Samsung affiliates, about 70,000 employees across 20 Samsung affiliates are using Claude Enterprise. Based on the use cases and operating experience it has accumulated through this process, Samsung SDS plans to apply those insights to external customers' AI adoption and AX business.

Chris Ciauri, head of International GTM at Anthropic, said Samsung SDS has the technical capability and industry expertise to apply AI in enterprise environments to real-world business. He added that this also marked a turning point in securing CPN select tier status and said Anthropic will support the broader use of Claude by Korean companies.

Lee Jun-hee, CEO of Samsung SDS, said the company will accelerate AI adoption by Korean companies by combining Anthropic's AI technology with Samsung SDS's digital transformation experience across industries. He added that Samsung SDS will support customers' AX by combining global AI technologies including Claude with Samsung SDS's multidimensional AI full stack.
