ETRI Automates AI From Game Creation to Fun Prediction

According to AI TIMES, ETRI on September 10 unveiled an AI-based game production and verification automation platform that combines game map generation, error detection, and fun prediction. The technology is designed to ease the development burden on small and indie game studios by combining generative AI that creates maps without ground-truth data with verification AI that plays the game directly. In the production stage, it automatically creates maps and elements according to conditions set by developers, and in the verification stage, multiple AI agents divide roles and play through the game to find problems in a range of situations. It also adds automatic QA to catch unstructured errors and a function to gauge fun based on play data, aiming for quality verification that goes beyond simply checking whether the game runs. Linked to actual game engines to improve applicability in the field, it is already being used in some development operations and release cases. ETRI is also pushing ahead with technical support and international standardization of related quality assurance systems to spread the technology across game development sites.
