ID Quantique Unveils Quantum Security Transition Technologies

According to AI TIMES, ID Quantique will showcase technologies to respond to future decryption threats at Quantum Expo Korea 2026, which runs from September 9 to 11, highlighting its quantum key distribution solutions and hybrid quantum security devices. On display will be Clavis XG, which has received a security function verification certificate from the National Intelligence Service, as well as quantum random number generators that have been supplied for seven consecutive years to the Galaxy Quantum series. The company says that countering the threat of storing encrypted information in advance and then decrypting it later with quantum computers requires not only today’s security systems but also preparations from the perspective of long-term confidentiality. At the venue, it plans to demonstrate what changes appear in the quantum key distribution process when outside intervention occurs in an optical fiber section, directly showing the technology’s principles. It will also present a method of reducing adoption burdens by using existing optical lines and equipment that adds quantum security functions to existing networks. Drawing on its experience supplying public, telecommunications, financial, and defense sectors through its Korean subsidiary, the company appears to view the expo as a chance to assess real-world applicability beyond a simple technology showcase.
