FortiTwoMaru Targets Saudi AX Market With On-Premises AI Push

FortiTwoMaru has begun targeting the MENA AX market, with Saudi Arabia at the center of its strategy. The move comes against the backdrop of Saudi Arabia's strong data sovereignty and security requirements.

To respond to these regulatory and security demands, FortiTwoMaru plans to identify local partners and expand its business through the "K-Tech Service Small and Venture Business Saudi Partnership Building Support Project." The plan was announced on the 31st.

The project is a program overseen by the Small and Medium Venture Business Promotion Agency (SBC) and carried out by its Riyadh Global Business Center (GBC). It is designed to support small and venture businesses in Korea that provide technology-based services, including AI, as they enter Saudi Arabia.

Selected companies will receive strategic consulting aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, localization support, help identifying and matching with potential partners, support for signing partnerships, and linkage to residency at the Riyadh GBC.

FortiTwoMaru plans to supply the domain-specific lightweight language model "LLM42" and the retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solution "RAG42" in a way that aligns with Saudi data sovereignty and security policies. The offerings will be deployed on-premises and in a private cloud.

To target markets with strong security needs, FortiTwoMaru is emphasizing a disconnected, closed-network operating structure that separates systems from external networks and combines it with agentic AI functions to support autonomous task execution. The approach goes beyond simple question-and-answer capabilities to support document review and workflow automation.

Its main target sectors are government and public institutions, finance, energy, and manufacturing. By combining a closed-network-capable structure with agentic AI, the company is aiming at industries and public-sector areas with high security requirements.

FortiTwoMaru plans to leverage its previous Saudi project experience to expand its business there. In 2024, the company worked with Naver Cloud on AX consulting for the construction sector of Saudi NEOM's "The Line."

The company plans to use this support project as a springboard to expand local partnerships. Its targets include the Saudi government and public institutions, as well as state-owned companies in the energy and petrochemical sectors, and it plans to pursue business opportunities, secure local system integration (SI) partners, and win projects.

In the medium to long term, it is also considering the possibility of cooperation with the AI ecosystem led by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund (PIF). Building on its past NEOM project experience, the company aims to expand its local business and, through this support project, broaden opportunities with local partners and for project wins.

FortiTwoMaru is exploring ways to link RAG42 and its machine reading comprehension technology "MRC42" with local AI platforms, and it plans to expand its local business foundation by using support such as residency at the Riyadh GBC.

Kim Dong-hwan, CEO of FortiTwoMaru, said that Middle Eastern markets, including Saudi Arabia, operate under policy environments that prioritize data sovereignty and security, and that these conditions align with an on-premises native architecture that operates independently in closed networks. He added that the company will use this support project to concretize local partnerships and expand business opportunities across MENA, starting with Saudi Arabia.
